Hepatitis B as we all know of by name is the most common serious liver infection in the world, and it is caused by the hepatitis B virus that attacks and injures the liver.
The 28th day of the month of July is a day set aside by the world at large to educate the people on what hepatitis is, it's infections, symptoms as well as how it can be prevented.
The Akuapim South Municipal Assembly which exists to improve the quality of life of it's people through the provision of social services and the creation of an enabling environment for accelerated and sustainable development within the framework of democratic decentralisation in collaboration with the Health Service directorate of the Assembly on this day organised ' A WORLD HEPATITIS DAY' celebration at the forcout of the Aburi Palace on the theme, 'Bringing Hepatitis closer to you.
In attendance of the program was the Coordinating Director of the Akuapim South Municipal Assembly, Mad. Lydia Akueteh. Mrs. Emily Osman, the Municipal Health Service Director. Mr. Jacob B.Osei Tutu and many others
The Coordinating Director addressing the people present said, 'we only have one liver. Hepatitis also affect the liver, therefore the need for us to seek for immediate treatment if we are tested positive.
The health director also explained to the people present that we have three basic types of Hepatitis been Hepatitis A, B and C. The earlier we identify it and make ourselves available for treatment the better. One thing we must all note is that Hepatitis can be treated
