HOW DID WE GET HERE

I woke up one morning, and decided to move into the town to buy porridge as some of we the youth usually do every now and then

There I heard the koko seller lamenting on the fact that, things are very difficult these days and she is thinking of putting a stop the food she sells. Out of curiosity I asked why and she replied that, Oil that she uses to fry her bafullote which she purchased around Ghc 800.00 less than two month ago is now sold at 1,330.00 per gallon and above in some shops. Due to the rate at which people buy the food these days and the amount they used to buy, one can say with absolute certainty that, they do not have money and she can't continue doing a business and run at a loss.

People of Mother Ghana, what went wrong and how did we get here

Global crisis which may be explained as events such as war, economic decline, pandemic, extreme natural events that affect all countries in economic, social, cultural, political, and many other issues is what they said we are facing but I stand to be corrected on this matter for I still don't know why the war between Russia and Ukraine should have effect on Ghana. What went wrong and how did we get here

We went to the market to ask of the price of plantain and the price ranges from 120.00, 150.00 and some at the price of 200.00. We asked why and I was told that fuel prices has increased. The price of plantain that we do not have to import, something that was farmed here too, it's prices has increased because fuel price has increased, how did we get here people of Ghana

Almost everybody is suffering in the country in one way or the other. How did we get here

People of Ghana are now adopting all kinds of strategies day in and out because they can hardly afford three square meal on daily basis. What went wrong and how did we get here.

You wake up in the morning and before the day ends, you will hear news of people who have taken their lives because the hardship is too much to bare not to talk about those that fight in public transports over increment in transport fares. How did we get here

One district, one Factory, they promised. There will be lots of jobs for everyone within few years, yet an ordinary ghanaian can't even afford to buy gari and beans. Food that was with the boys and for the boys. How did we get here.

I do not want to talk about the prices of sanitary pads, toiletries, pure water, roasted plantain and the rest.

Truth be told, something must be done and it must be done now. I mean no harm, I only write to suggest for future betterment. Every Step Counts.
