"The man who does not read books has no advantage over the one who cannot read them.” Mark Twain.
Many of us will agree to the fact that most of the schools we have in the villages in Ghana are in such bad conditions that words cannot be used to describe them.
In some villages, you will go there only to see the kids sitting on the blocks; others will be sitting on the floor because there are no desks for them to sit on. Others too do not even have educational materials like texts, books, etc., not to mention the fact that there are actually no teachers to teach them.
There have been instances where teachers who were posted to one of these places decided not to go at all because of the living conditions in such areas.
Regardless, we cannot leave education in such deprived areas to die off just because of the inadequacy of educational materials like text books, exercise books, whiteboard markers, school uniforms, etc. Schoolchildren in such areas also deserve better opportunities in terms of education, just as those in the cities do.
Higher Heights Foundation, a registered non-governmental organization formed by a team of students and youth led by Bro. Samuel Obeng Badu not long ago with the aim of supporting schools and schoolchildren in deprived communities, has really done what it can over the past few years to promote education in deprived communities, and these include donations of educational materials like exercise books, pens, pencils, rulers, drawing boards, mathematical sets, etc. There have been donations of marker boards to some schools as well.
The Higher Heights Foundation wishes to reach more than ten thousand schoolchildren within the first six months of the year 2023, but their strengths alone cannot do it. They are therefore pleading with organizations, companies, entities, and the general public to come to our aid and support them with the little that is possible. No amount is too small. Your gifts of $5, $10, $20, $50, $100, $1,000, or more will go a long way toward helping these little children.
Your USD 5, 10, 100, and $1,000 will surely go a long way toward helping our little siblings.
