HON. YOUTH MINISTER FOR SPORTS CONGRATULATES GHANA WOMEN'S NATIONAL TEAM ON REMARKABLE AFCON PERFORMANCE
The Hon. Youth Minister for Sports under the auspices of the International Youth Network of United Nations Security Council Resolution 2250, Abdul-Rahaman Mohammed Zakwan, has extended heartfelt congratulations to Ghana’s Women’s National Team for their inspiring performance in the just-ended Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
In his message, the Minister praised the team’s resilience, skill, and determination, noting that their journey in the competition has filled the entire nation with pride.
“You have not only showcased your talent on the pitch but have also reminded us of the power of teamwork, discipline, and the unyielding Ghanaian spirit,” he said. “Your dedication has inspired many young girls across the country to dream bigger and believe in their potential.”
He also commended the technical team, management, and supporters whose unwavering commitment played a vital role in the team’s success, stressing that this achievement is a testament to what can be accomplished when passion meets preparation.
The Minister assured the team of continued government support, emphasizing that women’s football in Ghana has a bright future.
“This is just the beginning. We believe in you, and we will continue to invest in creating the right environment for you to thrive and bring even more glory to Ghana,” he added.
The Women’s AFCON journey may have ended, but the Black Queens have won the hearts of millions—proving once again that Ghana remains a force to be reckoned with in African football.
