INDEPENDENT CANDIDACY OVER POLITICAL PARTY

Samuel Obeng Badu, who is also commonly known as "Bro. Samuel," completed the University of Ghana with a degree in Social Work and Education and is currently unemployed. He is a hardworking and dynamic leader who aims to become an eye for Ghana and Africa someday.

He is a self-motivated person who has a strong mentality to face pressure and delivers all his duties without fear or favor. He also has good debating skills.

He supports the youth because he is of the conviction that a lot of ideas have been gathered by the youth, and when given the chance, they can make a meaningful impact on our society.

Bro. Samuel Obeng Badu has authored lots of articles, and he is at it again this time round, saying that he will choose independent candidacy over political parties.

In details, Bro. Samuel said that, and we quote:

"For some time now, I have been thinking about the projects that the previous political parties did when they were given the opportunity to rule over the country, that is, administer the affairs of Ghana."

From the administration of the first president of the Republic of Ghana, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah of the CPP, through to present-day leadership Nana Akuffo Addo of the NPP

I believe that all these leaders did their best as they took over, but based on my personal observation and personal study, I believe some of the political parties have done us more harm than good. I may not get the right figures to represent issues here, but on any platform that I get to stand and voice out on this issue, I will mark independent candidacy over a political party.

A political party setup is a huge liability compared to an independent candidacy. An independent candidacy setup is less expensive, so it will not overburden the people for whom the organization is setup to serve.

A political party is a political entity organized by a group of people led by one person, called a flag bearer. An independent candidate is a political entity organized by a group of people led by one person. In a political party, delegates are supposed to elect the flag bearer.

But in an independent candidacy, a mastermind proposes the selection of the candidate based on the candidate's strengths.

In a political party, the entity that registers and submits a nomination for a position (President or Parliamentarian) to the Electoral Commission is the political party.

With an independent candidate, the entity that registers and submits a nomination for a position (President or Parliamentarian) to the Electoral Commission is an individual but is supported by a background team.

In a political party, the party funds the flag bearer.

Now my final analysis is that a political party is very expensive to setup due to the requirements at the Electoral Commission and involves many moving parts, so it could pose a higher chance of corruption. In a situation where we can't tell the exact business that the political parties have or do, yet they get more than enough money to spend on massive campaigns,

An independent campaign is simple, inexpensive, and has very few moving parts. As such, its leadership has more control over the organization, and its members are not burdened with unnecessary expenses.

Which will serve Ghana better after 29 years of political party dominance?
