Federation of Ghana Medical Imaging Students’ Associations (FEG-MISA) holds her maiden congress this year in Kumasi, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Saturday, May 28, 2022, at 10:00 AM GMT on the theme Preparing the Medical Imaging Student to keep with the advancement in his profession.
The Federation is the mother association of all medical imaging students’ associations across all tertiary institutions in Ghana. In the build-up to the congress, there is an inter-tertiary exhibition competition.
The university that wins will be given a crown at the Federal Congress. The case study of the exhibition reads, “Leadership of FEG-MISA has noticed low awareness of the knowledge of medical imaging sciences among senior high school students in Ghana.
Your local association has been tasked to prepare a short video (not more than 10 minutes) of a presentation on the modalities used in medical imaging for the education of the senior high schools within your locality”.
There are also going to be Federal Awards at the congress. The award categories are
1. Outstanding Medical Imaging Students’ Association of the year;
2. Outstanding Member Association President of the year;
3. Student Entrepreneur of the year;
4. Male Student Personality of the year;
5. Female Student Personality of the year;
6. Sports Personality of the year;
7. Most Versatile Student of the year;
8. Most Outstanding Diagnostic Radiography Clinical Student of the year;
9. Most Outstanding Diagnostic Sonography Clinical Student of the year;
10. Most Outstanding Therapy Radiography Clinical Student of the year.
11. Best Graphics Designer of the year.
Winners will be nominees who will accrue the highest votes on an electronic voting platform, and they will win FEG-MISA Grand Prizes at the congress. FEG-MISA Grand Prizes include; plaques, citations, certificates, cash, souvenirs, and many more.
Furthermore, there will be other thrilling activities such as a handing-over ceremony, certificates and awards presentation, the appointment of patron(s) and/or patroness(es), and the inauguration of medical imaging associations at the University of Developmental Studies (UDS), and Klintaps College of Health Sciences, as well as the inauguration of new FEG-MISA Zones.

Dr. Samuel Yaw Opoku, registrar of Allied Health Profession Councils of Ghana and former president of the Ghana Society of Radiographers; Dr. William Kwadwo Antwi, head of the Department of Radiography of the University of Ghana and Chairman of the Professions Specific Committee; Hon. Prince Rockson, president of the Ghana Society of Radiographers and member of the governing board of the Allied Health Professions Council of Ghana. You cannot miss it.
